The Grey Zone
(Tim Blake Nelson, 2001)

Everyone in THE GREY ZONE speaks in stacatto phrases and bass tones, even a distracting extraterrestrial German-accented Harvey Keitel. If the senses weren't already blunted by the over-punctuated details, this authorial sameness may lull. Adapting play to screen allows for more clinical detail but it doesn't feel organic to the enterprise.
