VERY BAD THINGS (Peter Berg, 1998) 0

I chose to walk out of VERY BAD THINGS not out of shock but out of boredom and insult. This is a movie populated by characters evolution wipes out, people who, against all common sense, seem particularly adept at prolonging their troubles for no reason other than extending some movie's length.

JERRY AND TOM (Saul Rubinek) **

An able, sometimes dead-on clever, but ultimately aloof and bloodless movie about a veteran hitman and an apprentice whose initial distate for the business becomes insatiable. Director Saul Rubinek clearly makes the effort to do more (watch the transitions between scenes), but what JERRY AND TOM needed most was an injection of attitude.
