Officials at Dynamix, computer game company developing the sequel to their cult hit Starsiege:Tribes, today announced that Clamato, a tomato drink made by the Mott's Company, was selected as the official drink of Tribes 2. As such, each bottle of Clamato will sport the new T2 logo, and each copy of the game will come with a 16-ounce bottle of the refreshing drink. Dave Georgeson, producer of the Tribes 2, told TFN that Dynamix's new licensing program was a way to better promote the game. "Let's face it," said Georgeson, "licensing the rights allows us to promote the game in channels that we wouldn't normally have access to. And it gives the fans a way to save some money on the licensed products. It's a win-win situation." Skeptical fans wondered whether "their" company was selling out. "Clamato? I mean, what kind of a lame-ass drink is that? I watch TV, and commercials tell me that Mountain Dew is the coolest," said David Hartford, aka {Do2}Cybéarnaise. Another player wondered aloud, "What's next, the official toilet paper?" Dynamix downplayed the concerns. "Even though we consume more beer than a frat during spring break, we want to send the message of a healthy drink that feeds your body and your mind," said Dave Meddish, member of the game development team. "Although, we did find out that it makes a great mixer. But best of all, chicks really dig it, so we're scoring like Brad Pitt now."
