Dynamix, developers of the world famous Tribes 2 online computer game, and Haggerty Enterprises, Inc., manufacturers of the world famous LAVA® brand motion lamps, have announced a partnership between the two companies. Under the agreement, Dynamix will supply lava to Haggerty Enterprises for use in its Lava Lites®. Apparently, demand for the motion lamps has outstripped HEI's ability to manufacture the unique lava-like material used in their products. Tribes 2 both solved the problem and benefited from it as well. "The built-in Tribes 2 level editor makes it easy to create a 'lava world' map with an abundance of lava," said Elyse Kaye, HEI Brand Manager. "We were very interested in tapping this unlimited source of filler material for inclusion in our products." Dave Georgeson, senior producer for Tribes 2, added, "It was a perfect match. Tribes 2 uses lots of dynamic lighting in its levels. The partnership allows us to add motion lamp effects as part of the lighting, adding whole new moods and ambience to maps. It's groovy!" Aging hippies angry with the arrangement picketed outside Dynamix' Eugene, OR, headquarters. "We were on our way to a Dead concert when we heard the news, man," said one tie-dyed protester. "Leave it to the Internet to suck the psychedelic life out of these things in the name of corporate profits. That's not good karma, man!"
