Dynamix Employee Missing

Authorities are widening their search for Dave Georgeson, senior producer of Tribes 2 and employee of computer game developer Dynamix. Georgeson was recently hospitalized in a minimum security psychiatric hospital, and apparently walked out of the facility without any of the staff noticing.

Officials of Dynamix and its parent company Sierra were concerned about Georgeson's disappearance. "He's been out there all night, man, and all he has is those thin PJs and a bathrobe," said Alex Rodberg, Tribes 2 brand manager. "By now, the cold and the lack of beer are probably taking their toll on him."

Georgeson was initially hospitalized after suffering a work-related nervous breakdown. "Apparently he was reading the forums and his emails one night, and just went off the deep end," said a doctor familiar with his case. "I guess the deluge of negativity from something he keeps calling 'the community' finally caused him to snap. Technically, he's nuttier than a Planters warehouse."

Anxious fans remained glued to their glowing monitors, reading Web sites and chatting with each other, keeping up-to-date on the latest news about Georgeson. "I hope they find Qix soon," said one post. Another added, "Yeah, we need him back. He still hasn't said when we'll be able to record demos."
