Sierra confirmed today the widespread rumors that more and more Tribes 2 players are seeking help for compulsive-addictive disorders. Rod Fung, executive producer at Sierra, said, "It's a terrible trend that we're seeing, and we hope that by being open about it, we can help others avoid the temptations and repercussions these players are experiencing." One anonymous player confirmed the problem, explaining how his entire tribe was gradually affected. "It was mad whack, dude, first it was just one guy, but pretty soon they all were doing it. I tried to get them to stop, but hey, I'm not their mom, you know?" "It was always the same," he continued. "First they get in light armor and buy an energy pack. Then they put on that Afroman song, 'Because I Got High'. Next thing you know, they're jetting like crazy, seeing how high they can get and how long they can stay there. When we started complaining about the lack of O and D, they resorted to peer pressure. 'Come on, it's cool, you'll like it!' Shit like that." Congress is already responding to the controversy, considering whether or not to require "Caution: Concentrated jetting can cause players to get high" warning stickers on Tribes 2 boxes. Sierra's Fung prefers a more proactive approach. "If you're addicted, get professional help. If one of your tribesmates is addicted, just say 'no'," he said. "Remember, friends don't let friends abuse jetpacks."
