Spice fans often defend their heroines' lack of live singing by using their dancing as an excuse. "They have to do those routines, so it's hard to sing!" I can accept this argument if it were true.
However, the fact is that Spice Girls don't dance. These are the dance routines of each girl, in every live performance they have done (bar the Brits): Melanie C will stand frozen in one spot, only to occasionally, unexpectedly kick a leg or backflip; Melanie B will do what resembles lunges and squat thrusts; Geri will hop up and down on one foot, all the while making kissy faces and winking at the camera; Emma will stand in one spot like Mel C, doing what can only be described as a slow-mo Time Warp, bending round and round at the waist while shaking hips slightly with the occasional pelvic thrust; and Victoria, perhaps most disturbingly, will stand with her hand glued to her thigh all performance, until a camera comes to her, upon which she will immediately start waving her hand in front of her face (perhaps to disguise herself).
