The moment of conception demands immediate action. The space begins to mould itself into a harmony of lights, sounds and smells. Inside or outside, Transient sculpture is very natural [at least it feels very natural]. When the dimensions we live in become recognized for the space they occupy, the world becomes sculpture. Our perception defines this world. Societies transient movements are etched into the earth with the labour of movement and each succeeding movement. Distortions and change are the art of these preceeding movements. This flow may disturb but it occurs very naturally. As a socially conscious artist I must recognize these facts and accept their nature. [In fact I like to enjoy it.] My work delivers immediate action to the space as is demanded by the space in my conception of that space at the time of my construction. Being transient in nature, these works tend to collect along trails. For different lengths of time (depending upon the materials and nature of the environment) some of these works become landmarks or markers for frequent travelers. The desired effect of the works is to inspire artistic thought and action from those who may succumb [without actually having to meet in person]. Hopefully I will add a little spark to the fires of their spirit and then in the future they will pass it on to other passing strangers. These works of mine are free and form a kind of ritual that follows symbolic feelings without specific symbols. This is man the artist, in a world of his own perceptions, using the nature of the moment to mould the moment. That residue of the interaction of time and space inside this moment becomes recorded as transient sculpture. Even though some may go like melting snow, the world was changed with their presence. All things in the big picture are transient and I think we should appreciate more of the shorter lived ones. Not making museums for all these things of arts and crafts and history of man and his fantasies. Some of man's work and ritual will survive on its own and others need help but if we saved every work of art ; where would we put them?
So now i go with a subtle plea to anyone and everyone who might like what they see or the philosophy. Well... you can support my ideas by buying a picture and enjoying its natural thought provoking quality. all photos of the art can be large or small high quality reproductions backed, matted and framed if you like. Shipping costs are negotiable and dealers can barter fairly. Sincerely:ThorbArt4u2c
