Christmas In June Swap Guidelines

Hi All,

This is my first attempt as hostess! I put together the guidelines using bits and pieces of previous swaps. This will be a coordinated swap including Christmas Cotton and Fancies. I hope everyone has fun with the swap.

Please have your packages in the mail to me by June 8, so they will reach me by June 15th. This is so I can promptly process them for those that will be participating in the Christmas RR in July. Please feel free to mail them anytime between now and then! Be sure to E-mail me when you mail them and I will let you know when I receive them.

You may send up to 15 baggies. Please put your name and email address inside each baggie and my name and address on the outside. Email me privately to sign up and I will send you my snail mail address.

Include a return mail envelope with sufficient postage and your address on it. Make sure your envelope is big enough for the return mailing! If it's not or the sufficient postage is not included I will email you to find out what you want me to do. The Priority Mail Tyvek envelopes seem to work well for me and are free at the post office.

1. Each baggie should include TWO (2) 12 inch pieces of fabric. One 12 inch piece of Christmas Cotton and one 12 inch piece of Fancy (velvet, satin, lame, etc.) These pieces can be broken down into smaller sizes...example 6 X 6, 6 X 12, just so long as it equals (2) two 12 by 12 inch pieces.

2. Two (2) pieces of thread - 1 yard each for a total of 2 yards of thread. Please no regular DMC floss. Each piece of thread should be of a different type or variety. Please wrap these around a piece of cardboard and label the type, color, etc., Silk ribbon can be included in this category.

3. Trim - please choose two (2) of the following categories and include the posted amount of which ever two you choose.

a. Buttons - no white plastic shirt buttons please - include 6 if they are small and 3 for a larger more unique button.

b. Lace - please include TWO (2) pieces of lace. Each piece should be 8 inches long if less than an inch wide, and 6 inches long if over an inch wide.

c. Charms - 2 charms

d. Beads - If you send seed beads please include at least 24 beads. For larger beads please use your judgment ... 12 for medium size and if you have a larger, unique one, two would be fair.

e. Motifs, crochet items, applique pieces - 2 of these should be fair, please have them ready for the recipient to apply to their piece.

f. ribbon -- 1 inch wide or more : 1/2 yard ---- less than one inch: 1 yard

TO RECAP Each baggie should include:

Two 12" inch pieces of fabric - 1 cotton and 1 fancy
Two Yards of Thread
Two Items chosen from the above List
OPTIONAL: A sheet of favorite stitch instructions to use on a Xmas project.

REMINDER FOR INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS: It is important to mark on your parcel "USED FABRIC - UNDER $15" The value of $15 is not an arbitrary figure. With the exchange rate the way it is anything higher would require the attention from Customs....and result in a duty tax and handling fee. This would take away from the fun for international swappers as it would be too cost prohibited!!!

Have fun and let me know if I left anything out! I'm sure I did.... :) First time swappers are welcome and I will help you in any way I can .... feel free to ask!
