TIE SWAP
Swap Hostess: Ruth Osborne
TIE SWAP Guidelines:
Deadline to Sign Up for Swap: May 16, 1998
Email me at sassy@cybertrails.com
Deadline to Post your packages: June 6, 1998 (US), May 30, 1998 (Intl.)
Swapped packages will be mailed out within two weeks after receipt of all packages...I am aiming for the last week of June, 1998
1. Prepare up to, but NOT MORE THAN: 15 packets with one silk neck - tie in each. NOTE: NO SYNTHETIC FABRICS ONLY SILK.( I feel nice silk ties are readily available at thrift outlets, if they are old ties, but please send only ones in reasonably good condition.) Damaged or heavily soiled ties will be returned. If you have silk tie scraps from Talbots, they are also acceptable. Send an amount equal to one tie in each baggie. (12 x 12 inches)
2. PLEASE include your name & e-mail address INSIDE each packet. Place my name and address on the OUTSIDE of each packet.
POSTAGE/MAILING PROCEDURES:
3. Place all the packets (up to BUT NOT MORE THAN 15 in total) along with a self addressed post paid envelope (remember that you need to include as much postage as it costs to get it to me, as it needs to get back to you) inside an envelope addressed to me. The free tyvek envelopes marked *Priority Mail* from the Post Office work best in the US. No metered mail. (See address below).
OPTION:
International participants, may include an extra FQ (fat quarter) of fancy fabric to cover the cost of postage; for overseas exchangers please send 2FQ if you want it returned air mail otherwise 1FQ for surface rate. Or, if you prefer, then include money order in US funds for the amount of return postage.
4. In the lower left hand corner of the envelope or label, *write down how many of each you are sending.*
Post them to me at:

Dewey, AZ 86327
USA
5. Parcel must be sent by June 6, 1998, May 30, 1998 for international swappers. I will send out parcels once I have received everyone's packets who said they wanted to do the tie swap.
6. E-mail me when you have sent your package so I can know to look for it!
7. I will notify everyone who signed up when their packages arrive, and when they are sent back.
REMINDER FOR INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS:
It is important to mark on your parcels (capitals for emphasis only) "USED FABRIC- UNDER $15" IS IMPORTANT. The value of $15 was not an arbitrary figure chosen. With the exchange rate so high(1.4049) anything over $15 will translate to a figure close to or over $40 Canadian and will require attention from Customs. This will result in duty tax and a handling fee being charged. In my opinion this would then make international swaps cost prohibitive and take all the fun and joy from them.
