Crazy Quilt African Swap
Swap Hostess: Janice-Marie McDonald
This is a swap to trade fabric and embellishments with an African theme.
GUIDELINES:
You may send up to 15 baggies.
*****BAGGY CONTENTS: Each baggie should have the equivalent of a 12 x 12 inch piece of fabric and 3 different embellishments.
1. Material:
Equal to one 12 inch square. This can be two 6 by 12 inch pieces, or four 6 inch pieces, or one 12 inch piece, etc. The fabric should be either fabric made in Africa or fabric that evokes images of Africa.
2. Embellishments:
Threads: 2-3 yards of thread or yarn. No DMC floss.
Beads: 2-12 depending on their size. (If you send seed beads, please be
generous.)
Motifs: Machine embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery, or material with a
transfer on it, crochet, tatting etc. Motifs should reflect the African
theme.
Laces and other trims: 1/2 yards for small widths and 12" for larger
widths.
Buttons: 1-6 depending on the size. They should either coordinate with the
fabric or have an African motif.
Charms: 1-3 depending on the size. Must have an African theme.
Ribbon: Silk or satin send 1 to 2 yards. Wide ribbon send 18". No plain
silk ribbon, please.
Misc: Drawings, designs, patterns, stitching instructions for African
Sign up by emailing me by September 15, 1998
Deadline for mailing to me is October 1, 1998.
I will try to get the packages mailed back by October 10, 1998. Please remember that this is the first time that I am hosting a swap. (And I am doing two at the same time!)
You may send up to 15 baggies. Each baggie must have a slip of paper that has your name, address, and email address. Place them in one LARGE baggie with my name and address on the outside (just in case your package gets opened). (Let's remember to recycle those baggies!)
POSTAGE: Get two mailers and put the same amount of postage on BOTH envelopes. Address one to yourself and place it inside the other envelope along with your baggies. Swappers from outside of the US please contact me about shipping arrangements.
I will send you my address when you e-mail me to sign up.
If you e-mail me when you send your package out, I will notify you when I receive the package.
I think this should be a lot of fun.
