For Inspiration:

Blacks of all kinds metallic gold's and antique gold This is a coordinated, all FANCY fabric swap in blacks of all kinds, metallic gold's, and antique gold. There are some absolutely gorgeous black and gold fabrics and fabrics that combine the two. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions at all!

GUIDELINES:

Sign up by emailing me that your package is in the mail, so I can watch for it. You may send up to 15 baggies. . Each baggie must have a slip of paper that has your name, address, and email address inside, (You will LOVE the 'thank you's' you receive.), and my name, address, and e-mail address on the outside. This is in case the package is accidentally opened in transit.

US SWAPPERS: Use 2 Priority Mail Tyvek envelopes from the post office (If you ask, they will give these to you.) Put the regular $3.20 priority postage on each envelope. (Do not have your return envelope metered--use a stamp.) This will take care of any weight varience. Address one to yourself and place it inside the other envelope along with your baggies. Please note on the outside of each envelope (maybe in a lower corner or something), how many baggies is in your package, so I'll be sure to get the same number back to you.

INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS: Email me. I will check with the post office about the cost of returning your swap to you so that you can send the money for stamps. If there should be any left over, I'll return it with your squishie.

BAGGY CONTENTS: Each baggie should have the equivalent of a 12 x 12 inch fancy fabric (any fiber content is OK as long as it's washable) and 1 embellishment from the list.

Remember this is an all black and/or gold swap so the embellishments should be black or gold too. 1. Fabric: Equal to one 12 inch square. This can be two 6 by 12 inch pieces, or four 6 inch pieces, or one 12 inch piece.

Fancy Fabrics only, please I include black cotton overprinted with gold metallic in my definition of fancy fabrics, also fabrics like: velvets, brocades, silks of all kinds (I have a passion for dupionis), satins, velveteens,etc.... (I've had trouble with gold lame shriveling under the iron, so unless you have some that holds up to heat better than what I've found maybe we'd better leave it out.) 2. Embellishments: Pick 1 of the groups of embellishments listed below

Threads: 3 different threads: 1 yard each. No plain cotton floss or DMC metallics please). Please put these on a piece of poster board or something and identify the kind of thread, solor number or whatever, in case the recepient wants to get more of it.

Beads and/or sequins: 2-12 depending on their size; at least 24 if you're sending seed beads.

Silk Ribbon: 1 yard length each of 2 different choices.

Motifs: Machine embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery, crochet, tatting, embossed velvet, etc. Please be sure that the motif is on a piece of fabric large enough to either piece into the crazy quilt project, applique on, or that it has a backing on it, like "wonder-under" so the recipient only has to add it to her block.

Laces: 1/2 yards for small widths and 12" for larger widths. These may be old or new. There are some beautiful black, gold and black with gold laces out there. Buttons: 1-6 depending on the size. No plastic shirt buttons.

Charms: 1-3 depending on the size.

Ribbon: narrow to medium width ribbon send 1 to 2 yards. Wide ribbon send 12" - 18".

Misc. : This category is for the wonderful embellishment that you've found that will go great with this swap, but I didn't think of it. If you're not sure if it will work, write and ask me what I think. You decide on how much is fair based on the other suggestions.

INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS: It is important to mark on your parcels "USED FABRIC- UNDER $15". The value of $15 was not an arbitrary figure chosen. With the exchange rate so high (1.4049), anything over $15 will translate to a figure close to or over $40 Canadian and will require attention from Customs. This will result in duty tax and a handling fee being charged. Also remember that you need to send your swaps in a little earlier, so I'll get them in time.

FINAL NOTE: Use the golden rule when making up your baggies.

Please e-mail me when you send your package, so that I can make a note and watch for it.
