For Inspiration:
This is a coordinated swap for threads and beads. Coordinated means that you think they go together. Some examples are various blues, desert colors, Christmas colors, jewel tones, pastels, or just colors and textures that you like together. Let's have fun with this and get some ideas from each other. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions at all!
GUIDELINES:
Let me know by emailing me that your package is in the mail, so I can watch for it. You may send up to 15 baggies. . Each baggie must have a slip of paper that has your name, address, and email address inside, (You will LOVE the 'thank you's' you receive.), and my name, address, and e-mail address on the outside. This is in case the package is accidentally opened in transit.
US SWAPPERS:(Option 1) Use 2 Priority Mail Tyvek envelopes from the post office (If you ask, they will give these to you) Put the regular $3.20 priority postage on each envelope. (Do not have your return envelope metered--use a stamp.) This will take care of any weight varience. Address one to yourself and place it inside the other envelope along with your baggies.
(Option 2) Since this swap will probably be lighter than the swaps that include fabric, you may want to use a different envelope and have it weighed. Then put the same postage on the return envelope. Please include an extra stamp or two in with your baggies in case the return swap is heavier than what you sent. If I don't need the stamps, I'll return them to you.
Please note on the outside of each envelope (maybe in a lower corner or something), how many baggies is in your package, so I'll be sure to get the same number back to you.
INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS: Email me. I will check with the post office about the cost of returning your swap to you so that you can send the money for stamps. If there should be any left over, I'll return it with your squishie.
BAGGY CONTENTS: Each baggie should have
1. Threads: 5 different threads: 2 yards each. You may substitute 1 yard of silk ribbon for one of the thread choices. (No plain cotton floss please). Please put these on a cardboard thread bobbin, a piece of poster board or something and identify the kind of thread, color number or whatever, in case the recepient wants to get more of it.
2. Seed Beads - 1/2 teaspoonful to match your threads.
3. Optional - Small piece of paper with a stitch combination appropriate for your thread choices. It would be great if these could be stitched, scanned and printed in color, but a drawing would be good too!
INTERNATIONAL SWAPPERS: It is important to mark on your parcels "USED FABRIC- UNDER $15". The value of $15 was not an arbitrary figure chosen. With the exchange rate so high (1.4049), anything over $15 will translate to a figure close to or over $40 Canadian and will require attention from Customs. This will result in duty tax and a handling fee being charged. Also remember that you need to send your swaps in a little earlier, so I'll get them in time.
FINAL NOTE: Use the golden rule when making up your baggies.
Please e-mail me when you send your package, so that I can make a note and watch for it.
