5. BUTTONS - this is the category with the most latitude, so please use your judgement (let's rule out old plastic shirt buttons :-}

7. TRIM

Type - here is our catch-all category; ribbon such as tapestry, jacquard, woven, embroidered; tassels; braid; cording; fringe; leaves; stamens; etc.
Amount - you decide - depends on your stash

Re: colour selection (pastels, jeweltones, earth tones, etc.) that's up to you. Just keep them coordinated. And re: kind of fabrics, am I right in assuming that there is a preference on this list for natural materials but that in the interest in variety, and texture, people will also accept some fancy synthetics?

It seems that with this amount of fabric and trims, a person could make a good start at a small project, either using the materials exclusively or adding to it from their own stash and using their own colour and design sense to put their personal stamp on it.

MAILING INSTRUCTIONS:

Here's what you will do, once you've decided what to put in your packages.

Each person would send me 10 PACKAGES as outlined above.

1. Prepare 10 plastic baggies of 'kits' . Note: Not all packages need to be the same.

2. Put a slip of paper with YOUR name on the inside of each bag.(VERY IMPORTANT)

3. Tape MY name and address (Phyllis Price, 18 The Lane, Broad Cove, Nova Scotia, B0J 2H0) on the outside of each bag.

4. Get 2 (two) padded mailers, about 10" x 13".

5. Put YOUR address on one mailer and MY address on the other.

6. Put all 1O goody bags in MY mailer. For Canadians, have the Post Office weigh BOTH my mailer and your mailer together. Put this amount of postage on BOTH mailers. Fold YOUR mailer and put it inside MY mailer with the goody bags.

For folks in other countries (so far there are folks in both the US and Australia, as well as Canada, who want to participate), you will need to send a postal money order to cover the costs of returning the packages to you. I will get figures for this in the next few days, by taking as sample package to post office and getting weights and charges.

Do not use metered postage for swaps, as the delay between host receiving and sending out the envelopes invalidates the date on the metered label.

7. Mail MY mailer. E-mail me at coveside@fox.nstn.ca to let me expect it.

8. The deadline to mail your goodies is MAY 26

9. Wait for goodies to wind their way to YOUR door.

Hope this is clear to everybody. If there are any questions, please let me know.

Cheers!

Phyllis
