Crash, THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND's eclectic follow-up to Under the Table and Dreaming, is another danceable combination of the transcedental guitars, Cajun-influenced violins and R&B sax. As for lyrics, "sex and love would be principal topics," Matthews says. Indeed, "Crash Into Me" is a graphic description of lust, while "Say Goodbye" vividly describes a one-night stand between friends. Matthews wanted to capture the way the band sounds live. "The album is a little more reckless," he says.
