Atlantis

Far lands upon the sea forgot
Away through shallow memory
Distant, but ever ended not
Soon return across strong waves; free
Afraid of turmoil's regret
And upset caused by thy return
We beg you don't forsake us yet
With time your trust we hope to earn
Your mechinations confound us
Though time assists our inquiries
Technology advances thus,
Yet aged creations surpass these
Our tools, beyond our dreams; yet feeble things
Achievements mought to those Atlantis brings

This poem was written mostly as a test to myself,
yet also to prove naysayers wrong. If you recognize, it was written
in the style of an Elizabethan sonnet -- 14 lines, consisting of
four quatrains and a couplet. The rhyme scheme is ABAB, CDCD, EFEF, GG,
as with any Elizabethan sonnet. It is written entirely in Iambic Tetrameter,
with the exception of the ending couplet, written in Iambic Pentameter.
