Just so everyone knows, I'm not going to change my opinion on the idea of whether or not God exists... whether it be of one being or whether it be of several working in tandem... or even of several fighting for control of humanity and the Earth...
If you feel some sort of overwhelming need to send me some sort of message regarding my views, feel free to put "My argument for God" in the subject. I will probably read it and may even respond.
The address is lenticulare@hotmail.com.
If you wish to agree with me, put something to the effect of "My argument against God" in the subject line... I'll probably read that, too.
In truth, I have made a decision. I have looked at what facts I have seen, looked at the world around me, and formed an opinion based upon that. Until there is enough doubt to cause me to switch my opinion, I feel no need to come up with more justification for my argument.
However, feel free to keep such arguments as "The Bible says so..." "God says so..." or "because it is the truth..." to yourself. I will most definitely not suddenly exclaim "Holy Fucking Shit! If the Bible says it, it must be true!" or any similar phrase upon reading such invalid arguments as this.
Also, if you plan to say "Have you ever seen _______? (i.e. sunset, butterflies, etc.) Obviously some divine power is at work when such beautiful things are created" keep that argument to yourself, too. I have gone through this with enough people. I believe that there are beautiful scenes everywhere. In fact, when one looks at the world the right way, any scene is beautiful to a person. However, this does not mean that God created the scene just for our enjoyment. There are an infinite number of moments in every second, and everythnig in Nature is constantly changing. Therefore, the possibility of such a beautiul scene being created simply by circumstance is very large.
In truth, I believe that religion, government, etc. were all created by an elite minority bent on controlling the majority so as to further the pleasures of these elite members' lives.
Someday I will put up the article by Alan Grant which is in part responsible for this notion. However, there are many other factors leading me to this conclusion, so do not condemn Alan Grant for being one of these factors.
