What do you get?:
1. 1-hour consultation and project focus meeting to answer any questions, explain the process and determine what the direction of your copy should be.
2. 4 hour studio recording session (normal studio rate is 100/hr)
3. 4-6 hour editing and mastering session - your presence is optional. This is when he edits, sweetens and builds the full production tracks. *NOTE on production - this is your demo not mine. I keep production to a minimum. It is about your voice not my sound design skills. My skills should be professionally transparent.
What do you walk away with?:
1. A master disc CD for duplicating, containing the industry standard commercial track and narration track (political track is an additional charge).
2. A data master disc containing: all of your Pro Tools session files (original takes and all edits with and without production sound), the audio data masters (multi format data versions of the CD master files), pro quality Mp3 conversion masters for streaming and "down the line" web posting.
Who?:
Scott Burgess - Multi Helen Hayes winning sound designer with over 20 years of experience engineering professional broadcast recordings. Dozens of VO demos for local actors including: Rick Foucheux, Catie Flye, Ed Gero etc. Full production recording studio in convenient DC location.
Why?:
Because if you think you want to do voiceovers, you are going to need a demo. Many actors have told me horror stories about their demo experiences and the high prices attached to them. I charge the smallest amount possible to still be worth my time. I am into a positive recording experience for both of us. I like working with actors and offer them a relaxed, art-safe environment to do their work.
