Hot summer days are made more refreshing with iced tea but some teas tend towards bitterness when you ice them. After searching the internet for iced tea recipes we've come up with very little to go on, so our Iced Tea recipes have been done by trial and error.
Instructions for Northwest Blackberry Iced Tea
Boil about a litre of water (about 4 cups). Put 3 Northwest Blackberry tea bags in a glass container that can take the heat of the boiling water and will be easy to pour from. Pour the boiling water over the tea bags.
Let steep for at least 5 to 6 minutes. Remove the tea bags.
Let the tea cool in the glass container for about an hour. Transfer the tea into another container for storage if you like. Refrigerate for about an hour.
Pour over ice into glasses and add a squeeze of lemon.
We use Choice Organic Teas Organic Northwest Blackberry Wild Herbal Infusion tea for this caffeine free tea. It makes for a very red tea which you may expect to be sweeter than it is, but the sweetness from the fruit is not overpowering.
