About Me

Hey! What are you, some sort of stalker or something? I don't know if I ought to be giving out personal information like this, but you look sort of trustworthy...

The vital statistics: My name is Shannon, though certain people can get away with calling me other things.I'm twenty-three years old, and was born Easter Sunday 1977- I wasn't one of those considerate babies who waited for Major holidays to pass. I was born and raised in New England, and any stereotypes you've heard about New Englanders are probably true, though I neither sound like the Kennedys(who sound like no one else on earth) nor pronounce car "cah" even though I'm originally from Massachusetts. Right now I live with my parents and 16 yr old brother in a tiny central New Hampshire town, and I like it. I'm a lefty; I love music, literature, writing, theater and college hockey. I think that covers what you came to find out, doesn't it? Oh, this is what I look like. If you tell me I look like an elf, I'll be forced to slap you, unless you like that sort of thing, in which case I'll get someone else to do it.

I just graduated from college, yea me! Basically, I spend at least $45,000 dollars on a piece of paper that declares that I put in enough time to pass all my classes. I went to the University of New Hampshire, and it was pretty nice there. I recommend it, as long as the lack of funding and days off(UNH= university of no holidays) don't get you down too much. I majored in English Teaching, but I'm not going to teach, go figure. I like kids, and I like English, but I decided that I'm not the teacher type- better now than after grad school, right?

I'm looking for ambition does anyone have some to spare? I'm just trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. "What I really want to do is direct... " nearly as bad, I really want to write. However, the longest thing I've ever written, my work in progress, has only just passed the seventy-five page mark, so it looks like it's going to take a while to work up to something novel length. Since the idea of living under a bridge doesn't appeal, I'm going to have to decide on some direction for my life to take; why didn't anyone tell me that growing up would be this hard?

Why, you may ask, are there fish swimming in the background? Why not? I wish I still had fish, but I haven't had any since that unfortunate tank heater incident back in high school. So, here are my fish, all named Harold. Aren't you glad I figured out how to animate a gif and convert it to a background? I have real pets, this wonderful dog Princess, who's getting old, but I still love her, and and a ferret named Claudia(after the interview w/the vampire character). There are several other animals in and outside my house, too. I LOVE SQUIRRELS! Oh, was I shouting? So sorry. And I like to think of them as being mine in a way. Unfortunately, though there were many squirrels in Durham, I wouldn't have been able to keep one as a pet had I been able to catch one.

I won't bore you with the details of my love life, it's enough to say that I always fall for the wrong guys. Always. I just can't seem to...ok, so I'm better at the unrequaited stuff, it's more poetic anyway. That, and being pestered by guys I have no interest in, about sums it up. Having lived in an all-girls dorm for four years didn't help. Wouldn't you rather hear about my invisible friend, Fred, instead? Fred hosts a cooking show with the invisable friends of my real, visible, friend Sarah. He commutes to UNH-M. Aren't you glad you asked?

You must *really* be bored if you want to know about me! Delve deeper into my mind. (aka-things I love and hate)

"I don't suffer from insanity, I've enjoyed every moment of it."
