I am a wannabe writer. I'm working on someday doing the writing thing for $, but I'm still waiting for my "big break" (being published for free is fun, but doesn't pay any bills). I've done time in the English-Journalism major atUNH ,where I'm a Senior, because creative writing majors don't get jobs. But since, I've come to the conculsion that Journalism is not right for me, I changed my major to English teaching instead. However, in the time honored tradition of graduating students everywhere, I have no idea what I want to do after I get out of school. I'm so confused that I've decided to take some time off after graduation before applying to grad school. Does anyone have any sugestions as to what I should be when I grow up?

I was named Shannon by my parents, but will answer to any number of names given to me by friends(? j/k). I'm twenty-two years old, the oldest of two children(My brother Vincent is 15). I grew up in New England (no one here sounds like the Kennedys, trust me), living in Lawerence Mass. til I was ten, then moving to a small New Hampshire town(Raymond) that no one has ever heard of, next moved back to a large hellish city in southern Mass(Taunton), and finally to an even smaller NH town(Barrington) that no one's ever heard of. Around here we eat ice cream year long, and say "wicked". (it was wicked nice of you to visit my page.)

I love the arts. Any type of arts: paintings (I paint during the summer. Walls. Dover White. It's not really art) in art galleries, sculptures, literature(often non-canonical. who actually likes reading stuff by dead white guys?), poetry(modern and post-modern only!), theatre, and music, you name it. I love writing, there's just something so sublime about finding the right words to express yourself. I've been acused of being "the tempermental artistic-type" but I take it as a compliment. Some people like my personality, odd as it is, and some don't. Either way it's all good. I make it my goal to amuse, confuse, or abuse- the attempts in that order. People who don't like sarcastic smartasses tend to avoid me for some reason, but there are plenty of massocists out there who actually like being around me for some reason.

If you were wondering, the puppy and kitty gifs are here because I like animals. At home I have a lovely dog named Princess, and a ferret named Claudia(after the interview w/the vampire character) to call my own. There are several other animals in my house, too. (I LOVE SQUIRRELS! Oh, was I shouting? So sorry.) Too bad pets aren't allowed in the dorms...

I live in an all-girls dorm. For someone who lacks even one sister, living with 150 girls is an experince.(I hate my neighbors, but I always end up with alcoholics and druggies for neighbors. One of them is being evicted. awwww) This dorm has it's pluses- fairly quiet, and it's minuses -NO GUYS! Not having any guys living in the building does suck, but there are a lot of nice guys to be friends with elsewhere, as we try to point out to the frosh. It's not bad though, this year is my forth there. The fact that I don't have a roommate (I haven't had a roommate since 11/95. People encourage me to room with them, but I tell myself I must be strong, and not give into the temptation) is the deciding factor in staying there.

I won't bore you with the details of my love life, it's enough to say that I always fall for the wrong guys. Always. I just can't seem to...Wouldn't you rather hear about my invisible friend, Fred, instead? Fred hosts a cooking show with the invisable friends of my real, visible, friend Sarah. He commutes to UNH-M. Aren't you glad you asked?

Half of the people I know think I'm all Irish(red hair, blue eyes, fair feckled skin...), and the rest think I look, oddly enough, like an elf. see for yourself
You must *really* be bored if you want to know about me! Delve deeper into my mind. (aka-things I love and hate)

"I don't suffer from insanity, I've enjoyed every moment of it."
