A smile and nod seem to satisfy,
so why make an effort?
In my mind a running commentary,
but the desire to interject is stunted,
unheard efforts discouraging,
and it's never really that important anyway.
So I sit, in meetings, classes, whatever,
saying very little, nodding in agreement.
The good listener.
