Paused at the Trainstop

I can hear the whistle blowing
the conductor's saying
"It's time to go, time to go."
But it's so hard when you're going it alone.

I've got my baggage,
all that useless sardonic crap
that I always seen to drag with me,
so hard to seperate from the good things.

It's so cold here.
Even if I borrow a coat,
the wind'll blow on me.
It's blowing on you too, baby.

It's been twenty years,
I can't hid out forever, can I?
Guess the conductor's right,
it is time to go.

It happens to us all,
but yet we've got to go it alone.
It's a long hard strugle
to finally grow up.
