here is a list of all the books in my pagan bookstore is a not-so-random order. my comments are in green.

to get more information on a book (like price, etc...), and/or to order it, hit the book's title. if you have read a book that you think belongs here, write me about it, please!!!

The Spiral Dance : A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Great Goddess
by Starhawk

we have this one... draco has read it and really liked it, and he's not even wiccan.

The Pagan Family; Handing the Old Ways Down

i have skimmed this book while at a bookstore, and it looks like a really good one. i would buy it if i had more money!

A Bard's Book of Pagan Songs : Stories and Music from the Celtic World
great for those of us who are more musically inclined....

A Book of Pagan Rituals.
i have not actually seen this one, but it was the only one i could find one the subject which did not seem like a bunch of crowley garbage. it's cheap enough that if you are looking specifically for a book of spells to follow, it might be worth checking out. (i would suggest seeing my "make your own spell page" first, though!)

To Ride a Silver Broomstick : New Generation Witchcraft
by Silver Ravenwolf
read it. this sums it up for me: cheezy, yet somewhat satisfying.

Wicca : A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner
by Scott Cunningham
basically, you have to read this because everyone else has. end of point.

Celebrate the Earth : A Year of Holidays in the Pagan Tradition
i have a short page on this subject, but you might want to read a book like this so that you know the whole scoop!

The Gods of Man : A Small Dictionary of Pagan Gods and Goddesses
these are always helpful... this one is cheap and has alot of info.

The Neo-Pagan Essence
i have not read this, either, but i know of Otter Zell. he is a good writer; well-known and humerous, too. here's an example of one of his essays: the other people.

Of Witches : Celebrating the Goddess As a Solitary Pagan
for those of you who are looking to practise alone, or who have just left a coven for whatever reason....

The Pagan Book of Living and Dying : Practical Rituals, Prayers, Blessings, and Meditations on Crossing over
we all have to go sometime... here's how to do it the paganly-correct way!

The Urban Pagan : Magical Living in a 9-To-5 World
i have this one... i highly recommend it if you don't have a nice big backyard!!!

Drawing Down the Moon : Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today
by Margot Adler
i also have this one... my feelings on it are mixed. for one, it's nice to have the history, but there is jsut way too much feminism in it. you won't even hear about a male worshipper in this book. basically, i recommend you read this, but purely for information and history, not for a guide book! it's also a good one for pesky neighbors and relatives who want to know more about your religion.

Green Witchcraft : Folk Magic, Fairy Lore & Herb Craft
my friend has this... she highly recommends it!

The Green Witch Herbal : Restoring Nature's Magic in Home, Health & Beauty Care
i use this one as an herbal guide... i like it alot. i think that you will, too. an excellant book for those of us who want to use herbs in a non-lethal way.

Inside a Witches' Coven
and for those of us who prefer to practise if a group...

The 21 Lessons of Merlyn: A Study in Druid Magic and Lore
by Douglas Monroe
we liked it, as did our friend jesi, but only for fictional purposes.

Animal Magick : The Art of Recognizing & Working With Familiars
by D. J. Conway
The work is informational, functional, and usable.

Animal-Speak : The Spiritual & Magical Powers of Creatures Great & Small
by Ted Andrews

Tarot of the Cat People
by Karen Kuykendall

note: this is NOT a book, this is the actual deck of cards!

this is the deck that i have. i love it. the pictures are beautiful and you can tell what he cards mean without even looking at the little instruction booklet that comes with it. this is definately the tarot deck for people who don't want a conventional looking deck like the rider-waite! please click here to see some examples of cards in the deck.

note: if you want a book that goes much more in depth then just the little instruction booklet that comes in the box with the deck, then i HIGHLY recommend the book listed below:

Tarot of the Cat People : A Travelers Report
by Karen Kuykendall
this is the book that goes along with the deck.... but it's more than just another instruction book, it's a story. you'll find yourself reading the entire thing from start to finish the first time you pick it up! it's filled with fanciful, colorful information, and somehow gives you the feeling that you have a special relationship with the cards themselves.
