this is a page of decks and books that i would recommend you read if you are interested in knowing more about tarot card reading, runes, and other forms of divination. i've included the book's title, author, either a synopsis or a reader's review, and comments from me if they apply. my comments are in green.

to get more information on a book (like price, etc...), and/or to order it, hit the book's title. if you have read a book that you think belongs here, write me about it, please!!!

Tarot of the Cat People
by Karen Kuykendall

note: this is NOT a book, this is the actual deck of cards!

this is the deck that i have. i love it. the pictures are beautiful and you can tell what he cards mean without even looking at the little instruction booklet that comes with it. this is definately the tarot deck for people who don't want a conventional looking deck like the rider-waite! please click here to see some examples of cards in the deck.

Beautiful deck, but lacking some historical depth
This deck is positively beautiful.

I normally deal the Haindl Tarot, and on reading the booklet that came with this deck, found very little reference or relation to the historical meanings of the cards, as you might find in the Haindl tarot.
note: if you want a book that goes much more in depth then just the little instruction booklet that comes in the box with the deck, then i HIGHLY recommend the book listed below:

Tarot of the Cat People : A Travelers Report
by Karen Kuykendall

this is the book that goes along with the deck.... but it's more than just another instruction book, it's a story. you'll find yourself reading the entire thing from start to finish the first time you pick it up! it's filled with fanciful, colorful information, and somehow gives you the feeling that you have a special relationship with the cards themselves.
