An overview of the past crime families, their exploits, and their failures.(3 credits)
MOB102-Organized Crime in Theory and Practice
Strips away the Hollywood-perpetuated myths of organized crime and looks at the true mechanics of what makes such an organization work.(3 credits)
MOB201-Opportunities in the Modern Economy
This class examines the illegal demands created through the law and instructs students on how to exploit them for profit.(3 credits)
MOB202-Organized Crime and Politicans
Through the use of lecture and case study, this class educates students on how to influence politicians directly and indirectly.(3 credits)
MOB301-Climbing the Ladder in a Criminal Organization
Gives guidelines on the strategies a typical mobster may use when reaching the top, including gaining favors, earning respect, and backstabbing.(3 credits)
MOB302-The Public Persona of a Mobster
It is vital for a mobster to be seen in a positive or at least indifferent light by the media and the public. This class offers ideas on how to be simultaneously loved and feared.(3 credits)
LAW311-Influencing Law Enforcement
A study on how to efficiently manipulate street-level law enforcement through bribery, intimidation, and violence.(3 credits)
LAW312-Influencing the Legal System
Similar to LAW311, except focuses on the differing methods of influencing judges, jurors, and district attorney's.(3 credits)
FIN201- Advanced Money Laundering
The hallmark of organized crime is the ability to make unlawful gains indistinguishable from other earnings through investment schemes and business fronts.(3 credits)
FIN202- Creative Accounting
A companion course to FIN201, this class teaches future mobsters other methods to beating federal and state investigators by appearing to be perfectly legitimate.(3 credits)
INTL307- International Trade Laws
Learn about the opportunities for smuggling across national boundaries and how to get around trade barriers.(3 credits)
INTL308- International Criminal Organizations
A survey covering all major criminal groups around the world, so that students have an idea of who their potential competitors and partners are.(3 credits)
