Politicians have in many ways become the most sophisticated of criminals. Since a vast majority of them are lawyers, they know every tiny nuance and loophole in the legal system. ASU offers aspiring criminals an opportunity to milk the public teat without the investment of time an money needed to obtain a law degree.
POLS101- The Abuse of Power Throughout History
Through reading and case studies, students will examine some of the greatest politicians in history and how they turned public service into personal gain.(3 credits)
POLS102- The American Democratic Process
Professors show students the major weaknesses and opportunities ripe for a criminal who knows what to look for.(3 credits)
POLS201- Public Money is Free
Those students who take this class will learn how to safely skim from the rich public trough without raising any eyebrows.(3 credits)
POLS202- Using Politics to Live Beyond Your Means
A continuation of POLS201, this class teaches students how to legally use public funds and facilities to enrich their lives.(3 credits)
POLS301- Politicians: Modern Kings
Since politicians are in control, they have a certain number of unspoken rights that "little people" do not have. This course focuses on exploiting those rights to the fullest, be they monetary, sexual, or out of convenience.(3 credits)
PUB101- Public Speaking
Politicians must be comfortable in front of large audiences, since in many cases they must still get into office through votes.(3 credits)
PSY315- Power: The Safest Drug
This class scrutinizes the psychology of politicians so that our students can understand them and exploit them.(3 credits)
DIP101- Introduction to Diplomacy
In politics, you cannot not simply take what you want (well, USUALLY not). Therefore, you have to learn how to manipulate on a grand scale in order to get the money and benefits flowing your way.(3 credits)
DIP102- Negotiating and the Art of Backstabbing
Trust is a fallacy of most people, and a clever person without moral boundaries can take great advantage of them while they're back is turned. This class teaches students when to reneg on deals and keep a good reputation. (3 credits)
MOB348- Cooperating with Organized Crime
The Mafia can often be a politician's best friend, offering large amounts of money for a simple change of statute. They can also help you eliminate your enemies.(3 credits)
