The shower pelts
Water
Refreshing
Cleansing
Washing you off of me
Washing you away from me
I lean my head
Against the wall
The water runs
Off my shoulders
Streaming
Down my back
Deafening
As it fills my ears
Deafening
Me to you
Inside
And out
I cry
I wash
I scrub furiously
My skin is reddened
I wash it again
What went wrong?
I am angry
I rinse again
I am infuriated
At you
At myself
I should have been stronger
I should have fought
Harder
The water runs
Cleansing
Washing
Scrubbing
Me clean
Of the guilt
Of the feel
Of the smell
Of the touch
Of you.
