Sun Discs |
The "Sun Discs" consist of a circle or "rondel" of glass and a number of appendages that hang from the rondel. |
The rondel is made by blowing a bubble of glass, transferring the bubble to a pontil rod, then heating the open end of the bubble until it can be spun flat into a disc shape. |
I make a variety of items to hang from the disc. The simplest are glass droplets. The droplet looks like a droplet of colored water frozen as it drips. The latticino icicles are colors of glass twisted and pulled into a stick shape. I also sometimes use curly droplets. The curlies are droplets that form a whimsical twist and are frozen in a endless variety of motions. |

I recommend the Sun Discs for interior spaces. They will scatter and reflect sunlight into the room and add wonderful colors to windows and sunlit areas. |

Prices range from $15 to $175. |
