College: California Lutheran University and Arizona State U.
Occupation: ahhh...

Ambition at High School Graduation: I think I said I wanted to be a counselor for runaways, but I really knew I just wanted to be a mom.
Judi with Chris Cole in HK, May, 1997 (Brenda Grimsley in the background)
Current Occupation: Being a mom. Oh yeah, and I have a small travel agency that I run from the house. And I'm one of the youth directors at church

Things I've done along the way: What HAVEN'T I done? I've been a school nurse, investment banker, radio DJ, college recruiter, waitress, secretary... I toured with a rock band for a year (played lead and bass guitar and keyboard)...and I taught sign language at a state mental hospital for a while. I also have done a lot of work for Habitat for Humanity, everything from fund raising to actually framing the houses. But since my kids were born (the oldest is 16) "Mom" has been my primary job. The rest is just for diversion.

In 20 years: I'd like to be retired and living on a houseboat writing a book about the funky people I've known...most of them in my own family. I'd also like to open a little restaurant called "Just Desserts". Or maybe a bed and breakfast. I guess I'm pretty open to anything. I hope before that time I'll have another chance to live overseas...especially in China.

FavouriteTeacher: Richard Siegert
Because: He listened to us and took us seriously. He treated us like adults.

The Stupidest thing I did in High School: Let Roger Stone change the attendance slip I was supposed to take to the office. I got in more trouble for that than anything else I did those 4 years. I'm sure I did things that were more stupid, but I was pretty much guaranteed to get caught at that one.

Something I'll Never Forget: Singing a solo with the HKIS small chorus ("Himmler's Hummers")...through a bullhorn on top of one of the resettlement estates, in the rain, in December.
... And Keswick camp. I remember hearing them hacking the chickens to death in the morning and then serving chicken for lunch.

My Best Memory: My surprise 16th birthday party on the plane going to Taiwan for the school exchange. It was such a big trip, I didn't think anyone would remember it was my birthday. But they did, and brought a cake on board...and then the food fight broke out...and we all arrived in Taiwan splattered with cherries and chocolate cake and butter balls.

Other Memories:
Cheerleading...Jim Richardson's tournament-winning basket from under the opposite net.

Camping for 3 days on Lantau with nothing but Tang and instant chocolate pudding and poptarts (Tim Harvey was in charge of bringing the food).

The English teacher who wore the same clothes everyday (if we had to wear uniforms, she thought she should too) The class rules were:
1) One person speaks at a time
2) Each person speaks for himself
3) Cut the crap.
She only lasted 2 weeks. We went through 4 teachers that year...in large part do to the efforts of Ben Cooper and Mike McCoy.

Most Embarrassing Moment:
This isn't THE most embarrassing moment, but that story is too long to tell.
We used to go to the beach after school and we'd wear our bathing suits under our uniforms. One day I was in the cafeteria with Tim Harvey and we were getting ready to go to the beach and we were doing this little striptease kind of thing,in a corner, getting undressed. Alan Williamson walked in with his mother (he was new and they were touring the school) It was innocent, I swear! We were just goofing around. But there I was with my uniform half off, and Tim with his pants down. Alan didn't see us, but his mother got this appalled look on her face and she grabbed him by the arm and yanked him back out the door. I spent the rest of the year avoiding him.
Something I've Learned: Saving old love letters is okay, but if you're going to drag them out the first time you see your old boyfriend in 20 years, you really ought to read them first.

Something I'm Proud of: I haven't won any awards or gotten any books published, or anything grand like that, but I've raised 3 kids and they're good kids...even the one with blue hair.

Something I regret: Throwing out those old letters after that dinner.

Rumors I've heard: What ME??? Spread rumors????
