A theme throughout my work is play. The play of color, objects and figures in a composition, the play of visual elements in tugs-of-war for attention and dominance. These are images in flux - visual playgrounds. Two strong elements at work are the rational stability of the figure and the expressive mark. Canvases are completed as I find common ground and exploit differences between the two. The play produces an image that active and dynamic.
