Earthdawn Diaries

What's Earthdawn? A fantasy role-playing game, with some kind of nebulous connection to the ShadowRun universe. Basically, the world of Earthdawn is bursting full of magic, and people known as Adepts are able to tap into this magic to give themselves all kinds of special abilities. Plus, there are nightmarish beings from another dimension, known as Horrors, that feed on pain and suffering. A while back, when the Horrors first showed up, the entire population of the world sealed itself away in caves to avoid them. Now that most of those nasty creatures have gone back to their home dimension, it's more-or-less safe for people to go out exploring once more.

Why am I writing all this down? Well, so that I don't forget what happened during our roleplaying sessions. We're only able to get together sporadically, and it's hard to remember all the fiddly little details. Also, I got an experience bonus from the GM because I was the only person who could remember all the NPCs' names after we went six months without playing, which is a nice incentive.

The cast of our little tale is as follows:

  • Latke: a windling elementalist who's obsessed with pie, as well as being a lovely shade of blue. Now known as Revi.
  • Agace: an obsidiman warrior, deathly afraid of drowning. Wilderness survival is one of his strong points, as is hitting things really, really hard.
  • Sine: a human sky raider. As a child, she proved her mettle against the dwarven raiders who'd just wiped out her village; impressed, they raised her as one of their own.
  • Ritha: an elven weaponsmith (now, swordmaster) who grew up close to nature, surrounded by trees and plants and green growing things. However, unlike her elfin peers, she couldn't care less about green growing things unless they happen to be edible.
  • Raithen: another windling, a new addition to the group, who uses illusion magic, loves to dance, and hates being cold for reasons that will become obvious.

And their exploits will live on forever:
