WSK 125

The WSK 125 was my first legitimate roadable bike, (aside from a Ducati 80 of dubious pedigree) although its state of roadworthiness was debatable. Made in Poland, its sale was an early misadventure in detente by a local dealer (1963). I bought it from Temple Univ student Lavelle Johnson for fifty bucks. As parts wore out they went unreplaced as the importer, a fellow named Jolly Jerry down at the Jersey shore, was tired of being hounded by the FBI and irate customers or something like that. It was not bad, and its engine was reliable; had 19" wheels and deeply valanced mudguards like a Jawa/CZ Roadster. Wiped out the front forks cruising down some unlighted close at midnight, no headlight, with L Silverman on the back, got the surprise of our lives when we hit the barrier at the end. Traded it in at Laughlin's for the Montesa. Back to Biking
