RISKY BUSINESS This is Risky's Sire T-Bird. I sadly heard that he passed away. As you can see Risky inherited his body for sure. I was going to keep Risky a Stallion but was not prepared to. I don't regret gelding him because I don't think I would of gotten as far as I have with him if he was a stallion. Best part is not having to deal with those stallion traits. Actually I do. He doesn't realize that he has been gelded sometimes and gets out to mingle with the local mares. I've even let friends us him as a tease.
Here is a fairly current picture of Risky. He is my baby. He is so smart, gentle and responsive. He just wants to do good. He learned the half pass in less than 5 minutes. He is a born jumper. We jump everything in sight. He does English and Western, has been ground driven, but since I don't own a cart, hasn't been hooked up. I trained Risky myself and am very proud of our accomplishments. He's never felt the whip across his body, or a ungentle hand on his mouth. He's one of the lucky ones. It's so sad to have to whip-train horses as I call it, which is when I take a whip and pet the horse until he understands that I will never hit him with it. A horse should not shudder in fear of the sight of a whip. It is used as a guide not punishment.
