MOAHAGINI was born and raised in New York City. She started singing at the age of two. Her first professional appearance was at her grandfather's hot spot, "Mr. Souls Social Club," back in 1977. It was then she realized she wanted to sing. Moahagini grew up in a baptist church singing in the choir, and in junior high school, she joined the chorus and girls gospel choir. In seventh grade, she was offered a scholarship in music achievements. At that point, she started writing plays, poems, and lyrics. While in high school, she participated in the miss Nubian teen pagent back in 1992, which was a Cobree production, and was hosted by miss Keasha Mosley. Moahagini later put a group together and performed at Club Ibiss in Manhattan. She moved on to go solo, with her new debut hit single "You Played Me." Moahagini's big voice and sexy sophisticated style is sure to become the next rising star.
