I just realised I made ANOTHER mistake in my initial guestbook entry. The bloke who sang that song "One Headlight" was Bob Dylan's son, not Dylan McDermott (who, as I recall, was the cutie in the film "My Best Friend's Wedding"). Cheers!

I loved your comments. I completely, wholly, thoroughly agree with you!! I also first heard Jeff on Triple J's Hottest 100. Then, in June '97 I was in a record store at the Pitt Street Mall trying to buy some catchy tune of the day (Dylan McDermott's ong - "One Headlight" which isn't half bad). I also asked for Jeff Buckley's single and the assistant behind the counter (to whom I am forever grateful) told me it would be more than worth my while to invest $30 and buy the CD "Grace". Well, I was stunn d with the brilliance of the album. It too, affected me more deeply than any other artist I have EVER come across. One song in particular (Lover, You Should Have Come Over) reminded me so much of someone I was in love with but could never be with and I sed to play it whilst I was having a candlelight bath (I'm an incurable romantic!) and invariably I'd end up sobbing my eyes out - Jeff's God given voice and lyrics just seared through my soul. Now I'm by no means a teeny bopper but I seriously considere contacting him in early '97 as I was planning a trip to the States to tell him, well I don't know what, but I just wanted to meet the guy!. I will never forget how I found out he had died. I was in Vancouver, Canada in very early June '97 just after hi ing through the Rockies and I was trying to convert this French Canadian guy over to Jeff's workl (I even had the CD in my backpack!) and then he said "Oh, isn't he the dude who just drowned in the deep south?" I was devastated. Normally, if I hear that a celebrity I admire has died I feel a little sad, but this time I was in shock and felt such pain - it was like a close close friend had died. He just felt like such a soulmate. Anyway, I'm rambling - thanks for your website - it's a beautifully writte tribute - Kind regards, Helen

I know your feelings exactly when it comes to jeff's music.I bought Grace after hearing "last goodbye" I've never stopped listening to it. I saw him play in Adelaide S.A. and i've never been so moved in all my life and probably never wil be again.I to wa devestated when he died a loss that only his real fans vould understand.But I'm now studying music in L.A., thats how much he has inspired me . any way your site was great and I'll check back to it again.
