Shadowboxing


Darting,
in and out,
between the cracks
in the wall.
She turns,
suddenly,
now she’s got ‘em
He’s trapped,
pinned against the wall.
He doesn’t make a sound;
he’s just waiting for her
to make her move.
She reaches for her belt,
draws,
as he does.
They shoot.
She sends a bullet
into the wall.
He stands there,
a gaping hole
in his chest.
She turns,
putting the gun
back in her belt.
He watches her walk away,
vanishes with her,
as she leaves the room.
