AND NOW, some exceptional resources, for ALL your garage needs. Direct your browser TO the aptly named:
The Garage: A Selection of Garage Rock resources
it's bloody good, it 'tis. They have every sixties, seventies, garage, garage-punk, mod, freakbeat, surf, merseybeat, get on some nerves beat link you could ever want to know. This person did their homework and even has THIS pathetic site listed. How comprehensive can one get? It's rating is a thousand stars. We'd venture to say the absolute best of the best cuz it even includes the worst. Dedication!!!!! deserves a shitload of kudos.
Another swell offering of everything GLOBALl in the world of sixties garage: we're talkin' Chilean, Uruguayan and Peruvian Garage Punk here! Found ONLY on the inestimable Hitomi's Cutie Morning Moon Still, we don't know if something got lost in the translation: but it's a damn thorough site, with really cool characters if you go to the Japanese links. It's in depth and right up there with the best. And how nice of Hitomi to put a link to us and our Gravedigger Five site..
And now, just some simpleplugs fer "special" friends in the biz if you will:
The Ultimate Band List: If you don't know about this mammoth site, then you really have been living in a cave. ArtistDirect is where Joe Janecek is the Overseer of the Manor. So to speak. Former
Central House resident as well and close friend, we had to expose him and his predilection for knowledge, useless or otherwise. His used to work for Warner Bros/Reprise, then his roadside produce stand failed, E-Trading wiped him out, so to on directly to Artist Direct/UBL! Don't forget to visit his site.
Girlyhead , Miss Sunny Andersen, soon to be Mrs. Kevin Chanel, kickstarted this off the tendrils of Gearhead, of which she was an integral part for years and made a name for herself. Now: We guys don't read this to learn how to play with Brigitte Bardot paper dolls, but there IS actually a lot to offer here. This gal just sent us another comped copy, is quite the professional, and less Girly than you think. Plus was a perpetual Central House visitor, friend and supporter of all things happening, SF style. Mr. Kevin, the groom, has a deal called Chinmusic, combining baseball and music; fine concept but we couldn't read a thing online due to the background so we guess you have to buy it. Chris' wife digs the concept but would rather see garage punk and football.
