Check Your Watch at the Door

Time does not exist.
It was invented by man.
Dreamed up; in our heads,
The clock and its hands.
Watches like shackles,
Schedules like jail.
Now we can't escape it,
Mortal body's too frail.

There is no "time for lunch"
Only "I am hungry,"
No "time to drink,"
Only "I am thirsty."
No "time to sleep,"
Only "I am tired,"
No " time to leave,"
Only "I am going,"
No "time for quiet,"
Only "I am polite,"
No "time to mourn,"
Only "I am sad."

Slave to our own creation,
Freedom would be divine.
But we will talk more of this
When next you have the time.
