I don't have to be just like you
With sweater vest and yachting shoes
Ignorantly suffering the "rich boy blues"
Never once paying your own dues
Stumbling through life without the clues
Thinking there's no way I can lose

I don't have to be just like him
Beating the Bible 'til it caves in
Preaching a life that's free of sin
Force feeding you my religion
Quoting verses will soon wear thin
The same goes for psalms and hymns

I don't have to be just like she is
Wear scanty clothes just to tease
Some drunken schmuck wanting her to please
A hooker, at least, would be charging fees
Has yet to consider STD's
You know that dog has got some fleas

I don't have to do what he did
Smoke it, shoot it, snort or eat it
Poke a hole, I'd probably bleed it
Addicted hunger - can't seem to feed it
Any inhibitor is badly needed
I'll be in the obit. - hope you read it

I don't have to be just like that
Paint my face and dress in black
Try to be different - it's all an act
"Oh cruel world, cut me some slack!"
Drawing attention they think they lack
Just well off kids rebelling back

We don't have to be just like them
But think you aren't - think again!
We're all human, we all have feelings
We just have different ways of dealing
So make fun and call them names
'Cause when we're dead, we're all the same
