I write because if I didn't, the voices in my head would never shut up. Actually, that's not far from the truth. Sometimes, a situation, event, or scene will set words in my mind. Most of my writing starts out as a line or two that rattle around in my skull for a week or so like a song that you can't get out of your head. For the most part, I don't have to actually experience something to write about it. I suppose I plagarize events in a sense. If I can relate to a situation enough, I can write it like I was a participant.

Often, I try to write so that a wide variety of reader can relate to the poem. By that, I mean that several poems can be interpreted in many ways. I would rather a reader be able to connect with one of my poems than be able to guess the "right" interpretation of it. For example, Love Like a Weed may seem like a good love poem; but, I guarantee you, that's not what it's about. Regardless, if you like it as a love poem, I'm happy.

The poems I have posted here have been written over the past six years, so if some seem like they were written by a 10th grader, they were.
