Fontinini
My wife and I were in Solvang, California trying to find two pieces for Disney Village. Disney we didn’t find , but we did discover Fontanini. Agnes had decided that in her next Nativity Scene, she was going to have a Camel, Elephant, and a Horse for the Magi, having been convinced that this was the way they had originally traveled. That day we bought our starter set and have been adding to it every since. I sincerely hope its growth will come under some regional planning committee in the near future. What started as a display on the side board has grown, very quickly to command the entire wall in the front room that houses the bay widow. Once the home of Dickens Village, which grew at an even a faster pace, and has since taken over the garage, this area seems to have a strange effect on what ever it houses. ,
For you puritan D56’er, I sincerely hope you will forgive us, But before you label us a traitors, look around your own house, you do it too.
We have a friend, who has to be one of the great recyclers of our time. Its either that or he gets me to haul off his trash, (my treasure) for free. The Styrofoam walls and base were from two spa covers that he had replaced. Using it does offer a challenge since its wider on one side tapering off approximately a ½ and inch or better. A little plaster and paint, and a new village was born.
I am learning to stitch two pictures together. First effort.
