One of the area's best so-called punk bands, Husker Du dishes out lethal doses of disgust. The instantly likeable studio side, "Statues," swings abrasively against Greg Norton's tick-tock bass as Bob Mould's guitar piles up staccato riffs that prick like barbed wire. The flipside is a live 7th Street Entry recording, perfect for that late night body slam your dance partner's been asking for all night. Line of the month (from "Statues"), directed to poseurs everywhere: "You ain't got no reason to express rage". Can't say it applies to these guys. B+
