Below are the covers of two of the first comics in which Ditko's artwork ever appeared.
Neither covers are drawn by Ditko. I just wanted a place on this site for people
to know what the covers to these books look like, for easy reference. I've often wondered
how many times I may have missed these books at conventions because I didn't know what
the front covers looked like. On your left is DARING LOVE #1 (Sep '53) features the
first-ever comic-book appearance of Steve Ditko artwork. It features inside the story ''Paper
Romance''. It is 6 pages long, but is not the first work ever drawn for comics by Ditko.
That distinction belongs to FANTASTIC FEARS #5 (on your right), even though it was published
(by Ajax-Farrell) later (Jan '54). The company Ditko did DARING LOVE #1 was called Gilmore;
not exactly a household name.
