History had told us Ditko had only done one romance story
in his storied career - DARING LOVE #1 (Sep/Oct '53), his first-ever published work - until
Mark Evanier put this bloodhound on the scene, and Robin Snyder provided the data for a Ditko
story in Charlton's I LOVE YOU #91 (May '71). Tim Burdick, in early 2001, uncovered another
uncredited Ditko romance story, this time from Charlton's ROMANTIC STORY #107 (Jun '70).
And now (drum roll, please), another Ditko Charlton romance story has been
uncovered!!! Maulin' Mike Ambrose, Mr. Charlton Spotlight, has found "Surfing, Fishing And Kissing" (great title!), a 7-page gem from TIME FOR LOVE #13 (Nov '69)! You can see the splash page below! This just proves that there is tons of undocumented Charlton material out there, and who knows how many more Ditko stories will be discovered! That's three in the romance genre alone, all almost a year apart. What about Charlton's war books? Or their humour books? How about Westerns? How about more stories from the '50s?!
