''Meet The Men Behind The Creeper''
Two men of vast and varied experience combine their best efforts to bring you THE CREEPER.
To comic magazine fans, Steve Ditko is a household name whose artwork has enlivened countless
publications and sparked innumerable imitators. Pressed for personal information to fill out
his profile here, tall, blondish, bespectacled Steve was reluctant to reveal anything about
himself, just as he had resisted urging from editors of other magazines.
''I never talked about myself,'' he said. ''My work is me. I do my best, and if I like it,
I hope somebody else likes it, too.''
As for THE CREEPER, it wasn't just a matter of thinking up a new feature for Steve. It
started an an idea, and took him a long, almost interminable time to develop. Bearing in mind
all the past and current crop of comic magazine heroes, we strived to create a different sort
of hero.
In this, we hope we succeeded. We did our best. We like it, and we hope you like it, too.
Steve's co-worker is Don Segall, who wrote the dialogue for THE CREEPER. Don earned a
gilt-edged reputation as a playwright, novelist, magazine article contributor, producer and
author of a sizable sum of award-winning television and radio shows, composed special material
for popular comedians and a best-selling record album. His versatility also was made evident in
scripting for other comic mag companies.
