THE ANCIENT TRADTION OF STORY TELLING



Since 1980, Roi Kwabena has had the privilege of providing magic and wonder to the lives of millions across the globe through the ancient craft of storytelling.

     He has participated in storytelling activities at Nurseries, Play Groups, Libraries, Theatres, Schools, Universities, Homes for the Elderly, Festivals, Rallies, Seminars, etc., in the Caribbean, Europe and Africa. Many young people have also benefited from the cultural workshops he specifically conducted on the request of several local government bodies in the UK.






        Critical support and acclaim for his work has come not only from  community organisations ( for example- the Story-Telling Cafe or the ANANSI Foundation and other related bodies) but also from various Government agencies in Europe and the Caribbean. In the UK the ( National Year of Reading Campaign) Department of Education & Employment ( UK ), the Birmingham, Stoke On Trent, Wolverhampton,Walsall, Nottingham and Coventry Libraries. Numerous schools across the UK have also invited Kwabena to contribute to their Book Week celebrations.

     On many occasions Kwabena has had the honour of working with famed international practitioners ( hailing from the Caribbean, Latin America, India, Pakistan, China, Indonesia , Nigeria Ghana, Bulgaria, Canada, USA and New Zealand) in this field at concerts and festivals. Many of these practitioners shared Kwabena's objective of promoting the cultures of indigenous peoples.
