was a new student in the music school in Regensburg. Being curious, he came to a tower named Orpheus' Window. When he looked down, he saw another new student, a beautiful boy, named Julius von Alensmeier. They were in the same class, piano, and they soon became close friend. Twice Julius fought with another student because of Isaac.

sat on the tower. Klaus almost fell when Julius spoke to him from below. So Julius met two different persons at Orpheus' Window. Thinking about the legend of Orpheus' Window, which told that two persons met at that window would fall in love with each other, but their love would end in unhappiness, as the love of Orpheus and Euridika (Greek myth), Julius became confused, though Isaac and Klaus were not, because they didn't know Julius' secret... Julius was a girl !!! |
Meanwhile at home, Julius stood for her mother toward her two step-sisters,
Maria Barbara and Annelotte. They were mean to Julius' mother, especially
because the heritance will go to Julius' hand as the only son of their
dying father. Julius' mother was sent away to the street by Julius' father
when she was pregnant. That's why in 15 years she raised Julius as a boy,
to make
"revenge" to the Alensmeier family. Julius was unhappy. She couldn't
play with other children. She was distressed.
Now that they were in Alensmeier house, Julius blamed her dying father and almost killed him by choking his neck, in hope that she could live as a girl again, but she cancelled her deed. But Gertrute, a girl servant, saw her. Later Julius found out that she knew her secret and threatened her with a knife.
Klaus became Julius' friend. Another senior who gave attention to her was David. Julius began to feel different toward Klaus, but she didn't consider anything yet.
When she went to the Orpheus' Window and sat there alone, she almost fell. Her teacher, Mr. Herman Virkrich, who was an unmarried man, helped her. But somehow Julius felt, that in that critical moment Mr. Virkrich didn't intend to help her, but to kill her.
Meanwhile, doctor Jan who has helped Julius' mother in those years before
she came back to Alensmeier house, tried to threaten her for money and
to have her. On the first attempt, Julius who defended her mother threatened
him with a fire-rod. But on the second attempt, Julius
saw no choice but stabbed his neck with a letter-knife. They buried
his dead body on a snowy night. The letter-knife was buried too. Julius'
mother burned every evidence left. Julius was haunted because of what she
did. She ran away to Isaac's place (Isaac and his pretty sister,
Frederike, were orphans and lived in a very humble place).
But it seemed that somebody else knew about this, because the next morning a letter knife was placed on a book in Julius' bedroom. Julius was mad at Jacob, a servant, but interrupted by Annelotte, her sister, then she realized that it might be a different letter knife.
Julius missed Klaus so much, but Klaus had Arlaunne, a beautiful girl, on his side. When Klaus was hurt, Julius helped him, but then he asked to go to Arlaunne's place. Arlaunne beated him once and said he must be wiser if he thought of their group and made Julius confused.
Isaac saw David kissed Julius. Julius was afraid David knew her secret, but it seemed that he didn't. She was very angry when David said something about Klaus, so she smacked his face.
about Siegfried and Kriemhild. Julius' friends suggested her to be Kriemhild. Julius was angry and cut her long golden wavy hair in front of them with her knife. But finally Julius became Kriemhild.

Julius found a photograph of Dimitri and Arlaunne, so Klaus must tell her his secret, that he actually was a Russian, not a German, and his name was Alexei Mikhailov. Dimitri, his brother, had died just recently. (Then Russia began its war toward Japan).
One day a police officer came to Julius' house, asking about doctor Jan whom he said was a false doctor, a spy and was missing now. The police said something about "Drefius event" and Julius suspected Mr. Virkrich and Jacob had something to do with that secret.
It became more obvious that Julius fell in love with Klaus and Isaac fell in love with her.
Then came the carnaval day when the Nibelungenlied Opera was held.
Nibelungenlied Opera.
Kriemhild, sister of King Gunther of Brugunt, was very beautiful.
Siegfried, a prince of Netherland, fell in love with her.
But Gunther made a requirement for Siegfried to fight to win Queen
Brunhild of Izenrant for him. Siegfried succeeded. So Gunther married Brunhild
and Siegfried married Kriemhild.
But 10 years later, Kriemhild and Brunhild fought each other, saying
each of their husbands was the best. Brunhild ordered Hagen to murder Siegfried.
Kriemhild took revenge.
She married Etser, King of Hun. Thirteen years later she invited all
her family to her palace
and murdered Hagen, Brunhild and even Gunther. All were killed.
But she was murdered by Hirdebrant, an old general.
In this event, Julius was hurt, because the sword used in this performance
was a real sword. Somebody had replaced it. He wore also Klaus' Greek mask
for the parade, whereas Klaus was trapped in a room. He kidnapped Julius
but then Julius knew it was not Klaus' hand that
gripped her hand. He attacked her with a knife. Julius was ready to
fight back, but Klaus came and the man ran away.
The man turned out to be Mr. Virkrich. Suddenly he met a woman and realized that he found his Kriemhild, his 17 years ago Kriemhild. But Maria Barbara saw this and was startled : Mr. Virkrich with her step-mother (???). She became very jealous, because she had fallen in love with him since she was very young.
Julius' mother did fall in love with Mr. Virkrich that day when
they met on Orpheus' Window. But that time she was owned by Mr. Alfred
von Alensmeier and was pregnant.
That's why she didn't tell him her real name.
Isaac was confused finding his sister, Frederike, watching the carnaval with Morits who insulted them once in a party.

because of her bleeding (her arm was hurt by the sword). Klaus found out that Julius was a girl!!! They were saved by Arlaunne. Then Julius knew that Klaus or Alexei Mikhailov and Arlaunne were against Tsar Nikolai II. |
Gertrute who loved Julius and suspected that Frederike loved her master
too, was very surprised when Frederike told her that she loved Isaac and
Isaac was not her brother (she was neglected by her father and was adopted
by Isaac's parents), but he didn't know about this.
She promised Isaac's mother before she died, to fulfill her wish that
Isaac became a famous musician.
Unexpectedly David kissed Julius' hand at school. Klaus and Isaac saw this. So Klaus told Isaac that Julius was a girl. Isaac was glad to hear that. Klaus realized that Julius had her own reason living as a boy and said to Isaac, that he would help her as much as he could.
Julius realized that the man who kidnapped her was Mr. Virkrich when
he taught her piano and toucher her hand. But a bad news came from home.
Her father died. And his death was a bit weird from police point of view,
so the police officer came again. Maria Barbara suspected Julius' mother.
But nor she nor Annelotte were crying. A key to a box in a bank in Frankfurt
was heritaged to Julius and could be opened after she was 18 years old
(2 years more).
Julius promised herself to find out all her family's secrets.
Mrs. Kippemberg, Morits' mother, would do anything for her son. She
wanted Morits to be chosen as the pianist in the orchestra. But Isaac was
already chosen.
She offered money to Frederike. When the young girl rejected it, she
lost her job.
She was only 14 years old and it's so difficult when other people didn't
want to hire her
because of Mrs. Kippemberg. Finally she worked in a bar. Julius found
this out.
Maria Barbara was very suspicious to Julius' mother, because of Mr.
Virkrich. She pointed out a gun and forced her step-mother to jump from
the balcony. Fortunately Julius came.
Mrs. Alensmeier told Maria Barbara about her once meeting with Mr.
Virkrich at
the Orpheus' Window. She advised her to keep on loving him, because
her own
love was only a nostalgia. She even gave her a necklace named georukustara.
There was a clash at school because of Mrs. Kippemberg. She menaced to stop the donation to the church. Being not succeeded, then came the news that the opera building couldn't be used.
Mr. Virkrich kept a revenge to Alensmeier family. He lost his parents. Only Jacob the servant saved him. He wished all of them would be dead. But he disappointed with himself, he couldn't kill Julius before, because Julius was his student and too similar with his Kriemhild.
Frederike had worked so hard to give Isaac an expensive jacket, to be
used in the concert. Isaac and Klaus asked for permission for the orchestra
to play in the park. Isaac ran to chase Mr. Bernhart Schults, the conductor,
who was going home by train. But the train was beginning to go, before
Mr. Schults heard what he wanted to say.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Schults stopped on the next station and came back.
So finally, that morning, Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5, "The Caesar",
was played so wonderfully in the park.
Even Morits held his mother from interrupting the concert.
It was successful. Mr. Schults appreciated Isaac very much. (He was
only 15 years that time). Katarina, his private student, gave him a bouquet
of flower. Frederike wished she was in her shoes. She coughed a lot and
found out blood in her cough for the second time.
Isaac was offered scholarship at a music school in Wina, but he refused to go.
Julius found out that Jacob had relationship with Annelote.
Meanwhile Mr. Virkrich told Maria Barbara that his family was murdered
and he never forgot about that. The georukustara necklace fell and Mr.
Virkrich picked it up with surprise. Annelote set a trap, so Maria Barbara
thought that Mr. Virkrich loved Annelote and that made her upset.
Jacob was found out to be the servant of Mr. von Beringer before the
family was murdered.
Mr. Virkrich gave back the necklace via Julius, who recognize it as
her mother's.
Isaac found out from Julius, that she met Klaus too at the Orpheus'
Window.
Julius didn't know that both of them already knew, that she was a girl.
Morits offered Frederike, that she didn't need to work in a bar any more, if she agreed to be his girlfriend as before. But she rejected him. Isaac was having difficulty, all her private students stopped their lessons. He played piano in a bar later (a different one from Frederike's). He kept his hair longer, so people wouldn't suspect him as a 15 year old guy.
Isaac was very angry when Klaus kept on avoiding Julius and made her
very sad. He knew Julius and Klaus loved each other. Now Klaus knew that
both of them met Julius at the Orpheus' Window. But he had his own reason,
which he didn't tell Isaac.
Russia was calling for him.
Bettina who loved Morits made a disturbance in the bar-restaurant. When Frederike went home, she fell on the street and was founded by Katarina and her mother.
Klaus got a mail from Arlaunne. Hurriedly he went to save one of their friends. He put his key room to David, with a message that if he didn't come back, he could send all his things to Arlaunne. Then later came the news that there was a dead body in the river.
David, Julius, Mr. Virkrich and other people went to see the dead body. They met Klaus there. A police officer who came to Julius' home before, asked Mr. Virkrich if he knew about Mrs. von Beringer. He was quite shocked. Julius was suspicious.
|
she chased his train to Muenchen by horse. He saw her from the window. But her horse fell to the ground. Klaus was in doubt. He considered, he was being followed by two men. Leaving his precious Stradivari violin, which was given by his beloved brother, he jumped at the bridge. From the train, to the river. And looked for Julius. Finally they met. |
Katarina asked Isaac to marry her, but Isaac said that marriage was not a charity.
Klaus brought Julius to a house. They met Arlaunne there. It was Mr. von Beringer's house before. Ludwig II lost from Bismarc, so Germany was united with Prussia in 1871. Mr. von Beringer was still contra the unity. Being said as a spy, the whole family was murdered.
Klaus and Julius played violin and piano together. Julius asked him not to leave her alone. Klaus said, it's difficult for a woman. Julius considered, he knew she was a girl. But she still begged him to go with him to Russia. He put sleeping powder to her tea. He decided to leave her.
Seeing a painting of Mrs. von Beringer, Julius realized, who Mr. Virkrich was.
A man named Joachim came to see Annelote. Silently Annelote ordered
Jacob to kill him. Julius who followed Jacob was trapped. She found that
the man was dead. The police officer thought she was the murderer and shot
her, without knowing who she was. Hurt badly, she escaped to Isaac's house.
Gertrute was there and helped her calling Frederike's doctor. The doctor
said,
it's weird a girl was shot. Then Gertrute found out herself, that Julius
was a girl.
Then how about the Alensmeier heritage?
Annelote played an act that she was very sad, Joachim was dead. The
police officer said to Julius, that her voice hadn't changed yet. Julius
used the steam of quicksilver. Gertrute who
saw this, mentioned that Julius was a girl. Julius took a knife and
almost killed her.
Gertrute thought she was given a burden to her beloved master, so she
decided to leave.
She went to ask for permission from Maria Barbara, but found Annelote
instead.
She was found out dead by the dogs later. Then Maria Barbara shot the
dogs and asked Julius to carry her, because she knew Gertrute loved Julius
very much. Julius decided to take revenge.
Roberta, a girl who worked in the same place as Isaac began to like him. She must work hard, because her father was always drunk. She was a bit drunk in Christmas evening, so Isaac didn't have any choice than brought her home. In the morning, when she wake up, Roberta admired the lovely Frederike. But she felt she didn't belong there, so she left. She met Katarina at the door, who thought she was staying the night with Isaac.
Isaac decided to give piano lesson to Katarina for the last time.
He couldn't accept Katarina's feeling to him.
On the other hand, Isaac could never tell Julius his feeling to her.
He helped her when she almost fell on the slippery snow. Roberta saw
that.
Julius' mother was alone. But she was trapped in the library in fire.
Somebody had made the lamp fell to the carpet in purpose. Fortunately Julius
and Isaac came. Isaac saved her life.
Because she saw Herman Virkrich from the window before the accident
happened and she didn't want anything happened to Julius, she asked him
to meet her at the Orpheus' Window.
