A KITTY

This ditty is about a kitty
She was black and white and very pretty
She curled up near the head of the bed
But jumped out with a meow when it was time to be fed.

She spent hours observing the kitty law
Which decrees the hitting of a ball with a paw
Then just as soon as she was fed
She demanded that someone scratch her head.

She didn't know that kittens should be seen, not heard
She didn't know not to run from a bird
When she saw a dog she arched her back
For being in all the wrong places, she had a knack.

She has certainly brought happiness to one and all
She purrs to the touch and comes when they call
Their only fear is that she may grow up
In which case they could, well maybe get a pup.
