DAD, GRANDPA, GREAT GRANDPA

They are the ivory keys to the old piano;
They are the ticking of the old mantel clock;
They are the beautiful wild flowers under the windowsill.
And maybe a puppet made out of an old work sock!

They are the story being told in the squeaky rocking chair,
They are a book whose cover is very worn;
They are the pages and words that flow together,
And have been read a hundred times before!

They are a candy jar full of the best chocolate,
They are a pocket full just for her,
They are the dusty barn where they all played,
And the horses used with the knee!

They are the music of their childhoods,
They are a pleasant reminder while they are young,
They are many memories they love and keep,
And the wonderful memories yet to come!
